TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bekasi city government has allowed movie theaters to reopen under stringent health protocol against Covid-19. The decision is made as part of the city’s economic recovery measures.
“The economic sector is still running without neglecting the health issue,” said Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
Through a circular No. 440/1444/SET.COVID-19 on the standard health protocol for cinemas, the city noted requirements for the business management and visitors.
Visitors are required to wear face masks at all times, washing hands or using sanitizer, and maintaining distance with others at a minimum of one meter. Upon entry, they will have their body temperature checked and must not be above 37.3 degrees Celsius.
Cinema management is also obliged to monitor the physical distancing order when people queue to enter and leave the auditorium at a minimum of 1.5 meters.
Visitors who are permitted to go to movies are those aged 10-60 years old and healthy, meaning that they must not experience cough, fever, sore throat, cold or flu, sneezing, and shortness of breath. The visiting hours are also restricted to no more than two hours.
The operational hours of movie theaters will start from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. “If the above provisions are not complied or violated, they will be subject to sanctions in accordance with the applicable rules by the Regional Regulation Enforcement Team,” Rahmat underlined.
