TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan called on the people to be vigilant against the transmission of Covid-19 through the family clusters during the long weekend holiday at the end of October.
The transmission of coronavirus disease in the capital, he added, was contributed by the family cluster which reached 39 percent.
“This means a lot of cases originated in the family,” said Anies via the Jakarta Provincial Government's YouTube channel on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
Anies expressed worries over a spike in the infection family cluster after the long weekend holiday beginning today until Sunday, November 1, 2020. “Gatherings are held [during the holiday] which have the potential of virus transmission. We know that the virus spread occurs regardless of places and time. It’s not only spread in public areas, even it has a high-potential transmission in private places.”
According to the governor, Jakarta’s Covid-19 infection family cluster reached 4,684 with total positive cases of 36,659. This cluster potentially increases as many people neglect the predetermined health protocol when meeting relatives and others.
“Let us go on vacation while maintaining health, safety, and protecting others.” Anies Baswedan underlined.
