  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta provincial government proposed an additional budget of unexpected expenses (BTT) for the Covid-19 mitigation this year up to Rp300 billion, confirmed the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) Finance Commission member S. Andyka.

“The BTT fund was initially set at Rp5.032 trillion, and it is now Rp5.3 trillion,” he said on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

According to Andyka, the additional budget was approved in the meeting of the general regional budget amendment policy and temporary regional budget priority and ceiling amendment (KUPA-PPAS) on Monday.

Jakarta was determined to increase the budget as an anticipatory measure of the deficit in the social assistance program for its people until the year’s end. To date, the city had disbursed the aid to the ninth stage. “While the central government has been in the tenth stage. So Jakarta is still lacking a budget for this social assistance program.”

Despite the budget hike, Andyka confirmed that the social assistance would remain at Rp149,500 per month per family. A total of Rp280 billion of the additional budget would be used for the social aid program, and the rest for the procurement of personal protective equipment such as hand sanitizer and face masks.
