Indonesia Records 3,732 Fresh COVID-19 Cases, 4,545 Recoveries

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia on Sunday recorded 3,732 fresh COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, bringing the tally to 389,712, and 4,545 new recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 313,764 since the country announced its first two COVID-19 cases in early March 2020.

The country's Task Force for COVID-19 Handling also reported that 94 more people succumbed to COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 13,299.

The highest number of fresh cases was recorded in Jakarta , which stood at 771, followed by West Sumatra (359), Central Java (356), West Java (356), Riau (290), East Java (268), and Banten (231), according to the task force.

West Kalimantan and North Maluku Province reported no fresh cased within the last 24 hours.

The highest number of patients recovering from COVID-19 was registered in Jakarta (1,229), followed by Riau (557), West Java (467), Central Java (363), East Java (242), and West Papua (239).

The task force reported that there were no additional cases of recoveries in East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, North Maluku, Aceh and Papua Provinces.

The transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic has spread in 501 districts and cities in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia.

The task force also recorded 168,918 suspected COVID-19 cases, while 33,797 specimens have been examined for COVID-19 diagnosis.
