  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaIn commemoration of the one year of Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin’s governance, PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto highlighted the solidarity of the Cabinet ministers in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

PDIP stressed that the hard work of the ministers is pivotal to contain the ongoing pandemic. “So when there is an indication that ministers imagining to run in the 2024 presidential election and neglecting their duties and responsibilities as the main assistants of the president, it is better to stop all their ways in building good images and put the pursuit of achievement as the work culture,” said Hasto in a written statement on Tuesday, October 20.

Hasto said his party continued to push for partnerships with all political parties backing the government both in the central and regions, as well as support from all parties’ grassroots level.

“Political ties are also prioritized by building dialogues with all public elements. The key to facing a crisis due to the pandemic is dialogues, mutual cooperation, and building stable political conditions. Those who take advantage of this pandemic situation will face the power of people,” he added.

However, Hasto stopped short of mentioning the name of the ministers he referred to. “The point is, solidarity and the hard work of ministers amid the COVID-19 pandemic is vital,” he underlined.
