Huawei Partnership to Advance Indonesia's Digital Ecosystem

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Assessment and Application of Technology Agency (BPPT) has partnered with Huawei in a collaboration technological and scientific development and transfer of knowledge towards Indonesia’s digital ecosystem which was signed in an MoU not long ago.
Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said on Tuesday’s press conference that the triple helix collaboration between the academic, government, and industry sector is expected to help Indonesia reach the creative economy and digital goals by the year 2035, which is the initial stage to reach the ultimate goal of becoming a developed nation in 2045.
“What we expect to achieve in this partnership is for it to be Indonesia’s inaugural attempt to be more competitive in the industrial revolution 4.0 in the field of science and technology, especially in the digital realm,” said Minister Bambang on Tuesday.
BPPT Head Hamman Riza asserts that the partnership with Huawei will develop artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the development of the 5G technology. Riza said the government is pinning its hopes on Huawei’s global success to help deliver it.
“Huawei will also be involved in the competence development of human resources in artificial intelligence, cloud, and 5G and in the development of tech-based ecosystems,” said Hamman Riza.
