Jokowi Wants Priority Response in 12 Areas with over 1,000 Daily Covid-19 Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked that, in the next two weeks, the Covid-19 response team prioritizes 12 regencies/cities that have active cases above 1,000. These areas, Jokowi said, account for 30 percent of the total active cases nationwide.
Jokowi made the statement during a closed teleconference meeting that was later posted to the Cabinet Secretariat YouTube channel, Monday, October 12.
The 12 regencies/cities are Ambon, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, Jayapura, Padang, Pekanbaru, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, North Jakarta, and East Jakarta.
Jokowi also wants strict monitoring and massive testing conducted in eight provinces, as well as improvements in tracing and treatment there. The eight provinces are Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, and Papua.
"Based on statistics, East Java and South Sulawesi have shown better control over Covid-19. I think other provinces can learn from them," Jokowi said.
