TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta deputy governor Ahmad Riza Patria guarantees that the cost for COVID-19 patient isolations is covered entirely by the central government. This refers to patients showing mild symptoms and those who are categorized as asymptomatic carriers (OTG).
“The hotel isolation costs are covered by the central government,” the Jakarta deputy confirmed on October 1.
Currently, there are three hotels in the capital city that has been appointed by the Jakarta administration and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to be ‘controlled isolation centers’. They are North Jakarta’s Ibis Style Mangga Dua Hotel, Central Jakarta’s Ibis Style Mangga Besar Hotel, and North Jakarta’s U Stay Hotel.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan also appointed three regionally-owned hotels at Jakarta Islamic Centre (JIC), Graha Wisata Ragunan, and Graha Wisata TMII, as future COVID-19 isolation facilities as back up locations as the Wisma Mandiri Kemayoran is currently still able to accommodate patients with mild symptoms.
Ahmad Riza Patria appreciated the supports of the hotel management and the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) for their critical cooperation.
