TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In the 75th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said that the availability of the Covid-19 vaccine will be a 'game changer' in the war against the pandemic.
“Vaccine will be the game changer in the war against a pandemic. We need to work together to ensure that all countries have equal access to a safe vaccine at an affordable price,” said the President as broadcasted via the Presidential Secretariat’s Youtube Account on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
He opined that for the long term, the management of global health system resilience needs to be further improved. The reactivation of economic activities must also be started by overcoming shortcomings in the global supply chain. However, the reopening of the economy sector should prioritize the health of all citizens, he added.
“A healthy, productive world should be our priority. All can be achieved only if we continue to work together, work together, and work together. Let’s strengthen our commitment and consistently demonstrate our commitment to work together,” he underlined.
In the midst of the pandemic, the President went on, all countries must unite to combat Covid-19.
“But instead, we still see deep division and growing rivalries. If division and rivalries continue to persist, I’m concerned that the pillars of stability and sustainable peace will crumble or even collapse. A world of peace, stable, and prosperous then becomes more and more difficult to attain,” Jokowi said.
