Indonesia's Daily Cases of Covid-19 Still High; 3,635 Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia continues to record thousands of new Covid-19 cases every day. On Thursday, September 17, the national task force reported 3,635 new cases—exceeding the daily number of recoveries by more than 1,000.

Indonesia's total number of Covid-19 infections now reaches 232,628 cases.

According to the Health Ministry's data, as per 12:00 today, the new cases were the result of 41,804 specimens tested.

Today's recoveries were 2,585, bringing the total to 166,686 survivors. Today also saw the death of 122 more patients. Indonesia's Covid-19 death toll now reaches 9,222.

The country's battle against Covid-19 is far from over, with two new records of daily confirmed cases happening in less than a week.

On September 16, Indonesia recorded its highest ever single-day cases with 3,963—breaking the previous record of 3,861 cases on September 10.
