Jakarta Administration Secretary Passes Away due to COVID-19

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The secretary of Jakarta administration Saefullah passed away at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital on Wednesday, September 16. He had succumbed to COVID-19 infection.

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan announced the sad news at noon, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi roojiun, our brother, our close friend, a great personality who had always worked with us… has passed away at 12:55 at the Gatot Subroto general hospital,” the governor wrote. 

Anies Baswedan asked members of the public to pray for Saefullah, who was initially admitted to the hospital on Saturday, September 12. He showed no symptoms of COVID-19.
