TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java governor Ridwan Kamil on Tuesday’s visit to the Depok City general hospital announced that he is set to fully-integrate hospitals across Jakarta’s satellite cities of Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi (Bodebek) to handle the growing number of COVID-19 cases.
“We plan to manage Bodebek as a cohesive unity,” said Ridwan Kamil on September 15.
One of scenarios that is set to be implemented in the multi-region hospital integration is by uniting the coordination between the regions’ local leaders and have hospitals treat coronavirus patients from different districts.
This is hoped to be the answer for the limited number of hospitals that are able to care for COVID-19 cases, which has loomed over the West Java province he leads.
“We will then only need to strengthen additional hospitals [able to treat the patients],” said Ridwan Kamil.
