  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Metropolitan Police mobilized 6,800 joint personnel of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the provincial government to monitor the implementation of the large-scale social restriction or PSBB Volume 2. The officers will be posted across Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jadetabek) areas.

“In detail, 700 personnel from the regional government, 50 from the Attorney General’s Office (AGO), 50 from the courts, 3,000 TNI personnel, and 3,000 National Police members,” said the Jakarta Police spokesman Comr. Yusri Yunus at his office, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

The number of personnel deployed in the Operasi Yustisi, an operation to ensure the enforcement of the Covid-19 health protocols, was concluded in last night’s meeting between the police, TNI, AGO, judges, and the city administration.

They also agreed to establish a small task force that will monitor the protocols in crowded places, such as roads, markets, and residential areas.

The Operasi Yustisi kicked off after the transitional PSBB failed to control the virus transmission in the capital city. Governor Anies Baswedan decided to reimpose the social restriction and limited the capacity of offices to 25 percent, as well as shut all entertainment venues and tourist destinations.
