Pertamina Offers Lower Prices of Pertalite, Conditions Apply

14 September 2020 20:08 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaState-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina is providing a discount for Pertalite fuel prices from initially IDR7,650 per liter to IDR6,450 per liter, similar to Premium. The promotion is reported to be part of an effort to promote the green energy program or environmentally friendly fuels.

The company's Unit Manager for Communication Relations Eko Kristiawan, said that the discount is only valid in South Tangerang. "This is also in line with the South Tangerang administration's goal to create a healthy environment," said Eko as quoted in a press release on Sunday, September 13, 2020.

The promotion applies to 28 gas stations in South Tangerang for two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles, public transportation, and taxis with yellow registration plates.

Through various promotions, said Eko, Pertamina hoped that the public could play an active role by using higher quality fuel. "And together we can make the blue sky in South Tangerang," Eko said.

The educational and promotional agenda is also a form of support towards the government as regulated in Government Regulation No. 41 of 1999 concerning Air Pollution Control, which must be adhered to by all elements of the public.

South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany welcomed Pertamina's program. According to Airin, the program is part of an effort to reduce air pollution and could help to ease the community's burden amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

At present, the fuel consumption rate in South Tangerang is dominated by Pertalite gasoline at 50 percent, while Premium at only 20 percent.
