Anies Baswedan to Announce Detail of PSBB Policy Tomorrow

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the city administration to announce the policy of large-scale social restriction or PSBB on Sunday, September 13.

“We’ll announce it tomorrow as we are finalizing the regulations tonight,” Anies said at the City Hall, Saturday, September 12.

The capital city decided to stop the transition period to a new normal (PSBB Transisi) and go back to tighten the PSBB starting on Monday, September 14, 2020.

The former education minister admitted that he had discussed a lot of things related to the PSBB re-implementation with the central government and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.

“We discussed a lot of stuff. We reviewed and discussed Jakarta’s plan together,” he said.

The governor explained that the government decided to pull the emergency brake due to the high case fatality rate and the higher bed occupancy ratio (either the isolation or ICU rooms). 

“Due to the emergence, there is no other choice for Jakarta to pull the emergency brake immediately,” Anies Baswedan remarked.
