Fire Breaks Out in North Jakarta's Ciplur Market, Destroys 60 Buildings

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A huge fire broke out in Ciplur Market, Jalan Rawa Bebek, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, at early Friday, September 11, 2020. At least 60 buildings burned down.
"Fifty kiosks and ten houses were burned down,” said North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency Head, Rahmat Kristantio, in Jakarta, Friday, September 11.
Rahmat explained the blaze was finally extinguished at 3:43 a.m. Twenty-five fire trucks and 125 personnel were deployed to put out the fire.
The estimated losses from the 1,000-square-meter burned area reached Rp400 million. There was no immediate report on injuries or fatalities from the incident.
