Central Jakarta Sets Up 20 Isolation Venues for Covid-19 Asymptomatic Carriers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Jakarta administration provided isolation venues for Covid-19 patients who are not developing any symptoms in 20 locations without the assistance of health workers.
The venues are set in official residences of subdistrict or urban village head and sports halls, including GOR Tanah Abang, GOR Senen, and GOR Kemayoran.
“There will be no medical personnel in the sites,” said Central Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Irwandi, on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
The isolation venues are equipped with beds, bathrooms, clean water, and electricity. Patients will also be provided with drinking water and three meals a day.
Asymptomatic carriers who live in a large home are still advised to practice self-isolation at their respective residences. Yet those who live in a packed neighborhood are advised to undergo quarantine in the city's isolation venues. “Our place is prioritized for people who live in small homes.”
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan mandated Covid-19 patients presenting mild or no symptoms to be in isolation in government facilities in an effort to prevent further transmission. So there will be no independent isolation at people’s homes. This provision would also be issued in a regulation.
