TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tempo is set to establish a one-year fact-checking fellowship program with Facebook starting on October 1, 2020, in an attempt to fight the distribution of hoax and misinformation. The program opens the possibility for the fellows to assist Tempo’s fact-check team and increase its capacity to fight disinformation in the field of health.
For the past couple of months, the Tempo fact-check team has focused its efforts on verifying hoaxes linked to the COVID-19.
Through this program, the fellows will be able to build connections with health experts and government institutions and develop a methodology and strategy that will be applicable to fight disinformation in the field of health.
Apart from investigating and verifying health misinformation and hoaxes, they will be exposed to various tasks linked to audience growth such as creating newsletters on health-related articles, creating social media educational contents, and hosting virtual discussions on health.
Not only will they be guided directly by Tempo’s fact check team, but the fellows will also receive virtual training headed by experts from Facebook’s social media analysis tool CrowdTangle.
In order to participate in this fellowship must showcase interest or experience in composing journalism pieces in the field of health or experts in the field of health. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from any major, able to communicate well, adaptable, and can work in a team or independently.
Send your application to Nurul@tempo.co before September 14, 2020.
