Singer Reza Artamevia Arrested for Crystal Meth Possession

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Public Relations Division of Jakarta Metro Police Senior Commissioner Yusri Yunus said that singer Reza Artamevia was arrested at a restaurant in Jatinegara on Friday, September 4, 2020 based on citizen reports. The report stated that a woman frequently used or bought methamphetamine-type drugs, or crystal meth.

"The incident occurred around last Friday, September 4, around 16:00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time), at a restaurant on Jalan Raya Jatinegara, Bali Mester Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta," Yusri told the media at the Jakarta metro Police building, South Jakarta, Sunday, September 6, 2020 .

At the restaurant, the police find Reza and two of his colleagues, who are now witnesses. The police then searched Reza's bag and found a plastic bag of crystal meth weighing 0.78 grams.

The police then went to Reza's house in the Cirendeu area, Tangerang, and found other evidence in the form of a match and a suction device or bong.

The urine test results showed that Reza was positive for using amphetamine or a type of methamphetamine drug, while his other colleagues were negative.

Reza charged under Article 112 Paragraph 1 of Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years in prison.

To the police, Reza admitted to abusing crystal meth for the past 4 months because he was often at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. In front of the media crew and police, Reza Artamevia apologized to all his family, friends and relatives for his actions.
