Religious Affairs Ministry to Launch Certification Program for Preacher

3 September 2020 21:31 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Ministry of Religious Affairs planned to issue a certification program of preachers. For the initial target, 8,200 people are expected to join the agenda.

The Ministry’s Director-General of Islamic Affairs, Kamaruddin Amin, said the program would be carried out in collaboration. The ministry, he added, would act as a coordinator and facilitator.

“The certification program will involve many parties, including Lemhanas (the National Resilience Institute), BPIP (the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education), BPPT (Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology),” said Kamaruddin via a written statement, Thursday, September 3.

“This program will also involve the MUI (Indonesian Ulema Council) and other Islamic organizations,” he added.

Kamaruddin said the selection of speakers for the program would also involve mass organizations. “The core of this program is to strengthen the nation’s concept and promote Islam that is rahmatan lil alamin (blessing for the universe),” he concluded.
