DPR Member Questions Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital Building Permits

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - House of Representatives (DPR) Commission V legislator Suryadi Jaya Purnama in a written statement on Monday called for a stringent structure test for the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran building that is being used as a makeshift emergency hospital.
The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) member brought this issue to the public as he questioned its building permit (IMB) and its function and worthiness certificate (SLF).
He claims Wisma Atlet’s C-2 and D-10 block had been functioned to accommodate patients of COVID-19 without the proper IMB and SLF permits that had expired in August of 2018. Suryadi Jaya Purnama cited the official inspection done by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
“We cannot fully assure that the building has fulfilled the proper safety standards and feasibility of building functions,” said the DPR legislator who presses the government to conduct a thorough check on the building.
The Indonesian government had transformed Wisma Atlet’s 1 -7 towers to accommodate and treat up to 7,708 COVID-19 cases with mild symptoms.
