TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Jakarta Health Agency, Widyastuti, said the city administration is designing a mobile application that would help boost the government’s attempt to track COVID-19 cases.

She explains that the ideal tracking ratio after discovering one coronavirus infection is 5-25 people. Jakarta’s contact tracing ratio is scored 1 out of 5, which indicates the lack of tracing.

“We will be assisted by an app that will ease the tracking,” Widyastuti at the Jakarta City Hall on Friday.

She said the bad contact tracing ratio was caused by the difficulties to trace actual cases, which was attributable to people’s inability to remember their travel history for the last 14 days.

“We are preparing [an app to track COVID-19],” she said.
