TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In the presence of micro business owners, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that a COVID-19 vaccine will be available in Indonesia in January 2021 after the country produces the vaccine by December this year.
“Everything is in a difficult situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the coronavirus. Inshallah (with God’s will) we will return to normal after everyone has been vaccinated,” said the President in Aceh on Tuesday, August 25.
The president’s arrival in Aceh was to distribute Rp2.4 aid to more than 200 small and micro businesses in a program dubbed Banpres Produktif. The government plans to distribute direct financial aid to 12 million micro-businesses across Indonesia.
Jokowi ended his speech by calling on the entrepreneurs to always obey the COVID-19 health protocols.
