Ridwan Kamil Enlists in Covid-19 Vaccine Candidate Clinical Trial

TEMPO.CO, JakartaWest Java Governor Ridwan Kamil along with the Siliwangi Military Region Commander Maj. Gen. Nugroho Budi Wiryanto, and the West Java Police Chief Insp. Gen. Rudy Sufahriadi announced their participation as volunteers of Bandung's Covid-19 vaccine candidate clinical trial.

The three men will be tested together on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Bandung's Garuda community health center (Puskesmas). According to Eddy Fadlyana, the vaccine candidate trial field manager, a thorough health check will be conducted prior to the trial.

"The vaccination will be done on Friday noon," said Fadlyana on Monday, August 24, 2020. 

Eddy asserted that the team will not provide special treatments for the state officials. 

So far, the Covid-19 vaccine candidate clinical trial team has tested 110 volunteers in six facilities located in Bandung. As many as 2,200 volunteers have enlisted in the program that seeks to produce an effective Covid-19 vaccine.
