Attorney General's Office Fire Continues, Dozens of Fire Engine Mobilized

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The fire at the Attorney General's Office in South Jakarta continues to rages on. Officers recorded 40 fire engines were mobilized to extinguish the fire.
"There are 40 units," according to the information at the command center of the fire brigade on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Fire engulfes the Attorney General's Office on Jalan Sultan Hasanudin Dalam 1, Kramat Pela, Kebayoran Batu, South Jakarta on 7:10 PM Western Indonesia Time. There is currently no information about any victims or casualties.
Officers continue to attempt to extinguish the fire. "In the process of extinugishing [the fire], it spreads."
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin said that his office is also burned.
"Yes, [my office] is burned," Burhanuddin said upon confirmation on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Burhanuddin said that the fire occurs on the third floor up to the sixths floor of the Attorney General's Office main building, specifically in the staff room, education room, and intelligence room. One of the room on fire is the room that was used as the office of attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari, the gratification suspect named along with Djoko Tjandra.
Concerning the cause if the fire, Burhanuddin claimed he cannot yet provide an explanation. "It is still being investigated, but the main thing is case documents are not stored here [at the Attorney General's Office]. All evidence, files, are in the staff room," Burhanuddin said.
