Indonesian Govt Heads to UAE for COVID-19 Vaccine Candidate

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi and SOEs Minister Erick Thohir are scheduled for a trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday, August 21, after ratifying a number of bilateral partnerships with China at the City of Sanya on Thursday.
Minister Retno in Thursday’s virtual press conference stated: “Tomorrow morning [Friday] we will be heading to Abu Dhabi.”
At the UAE visit, they will discuss possible deals along with monitoring the development of a COVID-19 vaccine candidate as China’s vaccine producer Sinopharm and UAE’s Group 42 (G42) are conducting their third clinical trials for the vaccine.
The potential vaccine being developed by Sinopharm is said to be the first inactive vaccine that has entered its third phase clinical trials.
