TEMPO.CO, Denpasar - Blaring horns from dozens of four-wheeled vehicles opened the drive-in concert at Kertalangu Peace Gong park, Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday, August 18. In this extraordinary live music, attendees must remain in their vehicles while enjoying the outdoor entertainment.
The music show is a simulation event recommended by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry. Fifty event workers staged the gig independently.
The Head of the Regional Indonesia Event Industry Council (IVENDO), Grace Jeanie, said as stated by the ministry that every event must prioritize the health protocols of maintaining safe distance and cleanliness, as well as managing capacity.
“We will take firm action against those violating the protocols,” Grace underlined, adding that violators will be asked to leave the site if they still neglect the rules after three warnings.
The organizing committee only allowed 57 vehicles to enter the park of the total capacity at 150. Besides, there must be a maximum of four people per car.
The Tourism ministry’s Acting Director for Event Organizing, Edy Wardoyo, appreciated the unity of all event organizing communities in Dewata Island for establishing the drive-in concert. He hoped the guidance for such alternative music shows could be drafted soon.
The event organizing committee also involved the Bali COVID-19 Mitigation Task Force to monitor the implementation of health protocols against the new coronavirus disease.
