Pandemic; Only 161 Present at MPR Annual Session

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo is attending the annual hearing session of the MPR today, August 14. This year's session is held with various restrictions as part of the health protocol implementation.
In his opening address, MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo said that not all members were present at the meeting.
"We have 161 present and 264 members are attending the hearing online," he said.
In accordance with the health protocols, all meeting participants, including Jokowi, came wearing masks.
Jokowi is scheduled to deliver a speech on the 75th Independence Day. He will also deliver the Financial Note and the 2021 State Budget Draft (RAPBN).
In the hearing session with members of the DPR and DPD, the presidential speech will be shorter compared to speeches in the previous years.
