TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The occupancy rate of isolation beds in Covid-19 referral hospitals in Jakarta increased by 20 percent during the two weeks of PSBB Transition phase 3, which ended yesterday, August 13.
'PSBB Transisi' is the term for Indonesia's transitional period from large-scale social restrictions, which has been extended for another two weeks starting today.
Jakarta has a total of 4,456 isolation beds. Before phase 3, the occupancy rate was 45 percent. But that number had risen to 65 percent, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said yesterday.
"Over the past 2 weeks, there has been an uptrend in isolation rooms and ICUs in Jakarta," Baswedan said.
Of the 483 ICU beds prepared, 67 percent is now occupied by confirmed patients.
The governor called on citizens to obey health protocols and remind each other to always wear masks, wash hands regularly, and implement physical distancing.
