Head of Jakarta Tourism Agency Dies of Heart Attack

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Cucu Ahmad Kurnia passed away from a heart attack in Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, Central Jakarta, on August 13, at 16:55.
The agency's secretary Gumilar Ekalaya confirmed the news. "Cucu did not die of COVID-19," Gumilar said in the agency’s official statement.
Cucu was initially taken to the hospital after he complained about having difficulties in breathing.
He underwent a swab test on Wednesday, which came back negative and was scheduled to be transferred to the normal treatment facility from the isolation room today.
Cucu Ahmad Kurnia had been the Head of Jakarta’s Tourism and Creative Economy Agency since January 8, 2020. He had been treated at the hospital since Saturday.
He will be laid to rest at Karet Bivak cemetery, Central Jakarta.
