TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inspected the condition of Tebet Park in South Jakarta on Sunday, August 9. During his visit, Anies and the regional officials discussed plans to revitalize the garden in the near future.
“This 2.5-hectare park is one of the 16 green spaces that we have allowed to reopen during the transitional PSBB (large-scale social restriction),” Anies said via his Facebook account on Monday, August 10. He also uploaded 16 photos showing his activities in the area.
Anies said the government planned to combine the North Tebet Park and South Tebet Park which are now separated by a highway. Supporting facilities, such as playgrounds and sports fields would also be constructed.
In its design, the revitalization would include the renovation of the Sentra Tebet Landfill. The Governor then asked for public advice regarding plans on the park revitalization.
Several internet citizens or netizens left their suggestions on the comment section. An account named Afandi Mardani asked Anies Baswedan to set up educational centers about Betawi culture and the inventory of flora, as well as smooth pedestrian paths. Other people recommended photo spots and modern lights and decorations.
