Garuda Indonesia Offers up to 45% Discount

6 August 2020 23:10 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaGaruda Indonesia is offering a discount of up to 45 percent on flight tickets for five domestic routes in an effort to encourage people to travel as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to devastate the tourism and aviation sector.

Garuda Indonesia CEO Irfan Setiaputra, outlined that the deal is valid for flights to Bali starting from IDR 1.5 million, Lombok IDR 1.5 million, Yogyakarta IDR 900,000, Labuan Bajo IDR 2.1 million, and Medan IDR 1.5 million.

"It is valid for the booking period until August 31, 2020, and for travel between August 14-31, 2020," said Irfan via a press release on Thursday, August 6, 2020. Ticket reservations can be made via the official website, the GIAA mobile app, or the airline's sales office.

The full-service airline also planned to increase the flight frequency to Bali to three flights a day following the reopening of the tourism sector in the island on July 31, 2020.

Irfan added that his side had prepared the new standard and adjusted to the health protocols during the transition period to a new normal era.

Garuda Indonesia also cooperated with the Bali provincial government. Tourists wishing to visit Bali are allowed to take COVID-19 rapid test and are not obliged to have PCR or swab tests.
