33 COVID-19 Red Zones in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 33 RW or community units in Jakarta are still categorized as COVID-19 red zones, meaning the areas are at a high risk of virus transmission.
The figure was fluctuating during the transitional PSBB or large-scale social restriction that kicked off since June 5, 2020.
At the beginning of the transitional PSBB, the number reached 66, dropped to 27, and jumped to 30 RW in early July. It increased again to 33 RW in the middle of this month and remained to date.
Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that cases of novel coronavirus transmission were still high in the capital city. Thus, he appealed to residents to keep complying with the predetermined health protocols of wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance, and washing hands frequently.
As reported earlier, Anies confirmed that the COVID-19 positivity rate in Jakarta was recorded at 6.3 percent, up from previously 5.4 percent.
