TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nearing the Islamic Eid al-Adha celebration, the Indonesian COVID-19 task force reminded the public to always abide by the existing health protocols, even during the animal sacrifice tradition or Qurban. The task force highlighted the mistakes people often make upon wearing face masks.
The task force’s expert member, Dewi Nur Aisyah, on Wednesday explained that covering the entire half of the face must not be compromised.
“Many people still wear masks but don’t cover their nose,” said Aisyah on July 29.
She also reminded people to avoid touching any part of the face before sterilizing their hands with hand sanitizers or constant hand-washing with soap under flowing water such as tap water.
Related to the Eid al-Adha, she called for everyone to avoid creating large crowds, especially during the Qurban process - which annually attracts people’s attention. The COVID-19 expert member also noted the proper way to distribute the Qurban meat.
