TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) on Tuesday raided a truck transporting illegal substances in the form of crystal meth at Tangerang City, which the agency believes weighs up to hundreds of kilograms.
Six suspects were arrested in the high stakes drug bust that happened at Tangerang’s Prabu Siliwangi street. The captured suspects confessed that the drugs were transported from Lampung.
“The BNN raided and arrested the drug suspects along with what we believe to be hundreds of kilograms of crystal meth, we have yet weighed it,” the BNN deputy of eradication, Arman Depari, wrote in a written statement on Tuesday, July 28.
The suspects carried the crystal meth inside dozens of sacks of corn kernels to trick authorities in checkpoints. “Authorities, perpetrators, and pieces of evidence and are still at the crime scene. We will keep you updated,” said Arman.
