TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) ministry’s special staff of communication, Arya Sinulangga, on Thursday responded to the lawsuit filed by the Federation of Pertamina United Labor Unions (FSPPB) against the SOEs Minister Erick Thohir.
The FSPPB lawsuit contests Thohir’s decision to form sub holdings and accuses the minister of driving the state-owned energy firm towards privatization. Arya Sinulangga defends that such accusations are absurd.
“In terms of ownership, assets, and whatever it is. It remains to be owned by Pertamina. The firm’s sub holdings are Pertamina’s assets and not owned by the sub-holding firms,” said Arya on Thursday.
Not only does he strongly reject the accusations of privatization, but Arya Sinulangga also denies that Erick Thohir’s strategy had generated losses for Pertamina employees and guarantees that Erick Thohir had followed existing constitutional laws.
“Don’t make things up. We are ready to face their lawsuit,” said Arya.
Tempo attempted to ask for clarification from FSPPB head of media, Marcellus Hakeng Jayawibawa but has yet received a response regarding Arya Sinulangga’s counter-statement.
