TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has yet managed to trace the whereabouts of graft fugitive Harun Masiku, who had been on the run since January this year.
“We continue to search for him, and surely there are a number of leads regarding his location that we cannot disclose,” said KPK acting-spokesman Ali Fikri on Tuesday, July 21.
In terms of the discourse to hold an in absentia court trial for the fugitive, Ali said that it will remain as the last alternative if numerous other attempts fail.
He insists KPK continues to hunt down the man who allegedly handed Rp600 million graft money to the General Elections Committee (KPU) member Wahyu Setiawan, which was done to sway the KPU upon voting him into the House of Legislations during a recess period. Wahyu Setiawan is currently undergoing court proceedings.
