Indonesia COVID-19 Update: 1,693 New Cases

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government's spokesman for the COVID-19 mitigation, Achmad Yurianto, reported the country’s tally of COVID-19 cases continued to increase. As of today, July 20, 2020, there are 1,693 new confirmed cases.
“The figure brings the total tally to 88,124 cases, from previously 86,251 cases,” said Yurianto in a press conference broadcasted live via the BNPB’s Youtube channel on Monday.
Indonesia also saw an increasing number of recoveries. As many as 1,576 more patients were declared to have recovered, pushing the total to 46,977 from the previous day’s 45,401 patients. The number of deaths also rose by 96 to 4,239 patients.
“With the new concept [of COVID-19 terms], there are 36,380 suspected cases,” Yurianto added.
During the transition period from the large-scale social restrictions or PSBB to the new normal era, Yurianto repeatedly reminded the public to comply with the health protocols.
