TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir in Tempo Magazine’s latest interview revealed some people have approached him for positions as commissioners or directors in the country’s state enterprises.
According to him, the requests not only come from volunteers but also political parties, mass-organizations, and state-ministers.
“This seems not to be a problem as long as it fits the needed composition and capacity. I am only making sure the process takes place transparently and the appointed candidates will be a part of the SOEs transformation,” said Erick in Tempo Magazine’s latest July 18 edition.
Erick said that requests, and suggestions, asking for positions as board of directors and commissioners must be in the form of official letters. He demands such requests be written on paper as a means of accountability and to avoid establishing a loophole that would later be used against him.
He even revealed that several people had sent inquiries via Whatsapp, even though he assured that the request was not responded to. Erick Thohir also assured that not every “suggestion” was accommodated as “My accountability is towards the people,” said the SOEs Minister.
