Anies Wants Online Ojek Payment System under Jak Lingko

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan wanted the tariff and payment system for online-based transportation including online ojek and taxi to be integrated with other transport modes under PT Jak Lingko Indonesia.

“When we determined that the key to resolving issues of public transportation services in Jakarta is integration, the provincial administration started to ensure that all routes of the city's modes are under an integrated system,” said Anies at the Transportation Ministry building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 15.

At present, the tariff system of regional and state-owned firms are integrated. “[We want] all transportation modes belong to private parties, both online taxi and ojek, [are integrated],” he added.

With Jak Lingko managing the payment system, Anies went on, it would be easier to integrate one transport mode to another. Not only about the routes, but also the tariff and payment system.

Jak Lingko Indonesia is a joint venture established by PT MRT Jakarta (20 percent), PT Trans Jakarta (20 percent), PT Jakpro/LRT (20 percent), and PT MITJ/MRT and KAI (40 percent) will manage the integrated tariff and tickets system of the city’s transportation modes, namely Transjakarta bus, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, and KRL or Commuter Line through Electronic Fare Collection (EFC), that is possibly provided by mobile card and QR codes. 

Jak Lingko Indonesia will function in processing transactions in those various modes to be then forwarded to a variety of banks. The tariff depends on the travel distance.
