TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The chairman of the national COVID-19 task force's expert board, Wiku Adisasmito, recorded that up to June 28, 2020, as many as 66 regencies or cities had turned into green zones.
“Thirty three out of the regions do not report new cases,” said Wiku in an online press conference today, July 3.
Green zone is a label for an area unaffected by the novel coronavirus infection or has yet to report new cases.
Wiku outlined that 185 regencies or cities were categorized as yellow zones (low-risk level areas), 177 orange zones (moderate risk level areas), and 53 red zones (high-risk level areas).
The zoning of the virus transmission level, he explained, was dynamic. As many as 19 red zones moved to orange zones, yet 37 green zones declined to orange zones.
Wiku the changes in zones hinged on the degree of discipline of locals and their governments.
Based on the data as of Thursday, July 2, Indonesia has 59,394 COVID-19 cases with 26,667 recoveries and 2,987 deaths.
