TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR)'s Energy Commission, Alex Noerdin, said that ten people in the House building had tested positive for COVID-19. He made the statement during a meeting of the Commission VII with Pertamina Director Nicke Widyawati.
“I have obtained reports five minutes ago that in the upper floors, I don’t mention which floors, ten people are found positive [for COVID-19],” said Alex in a meeting on Monday, June 29.
The Golkar politician stopped short of detailing his statement, yet calling on all parties to comply with the predetermined health protocols.
The meeting room of the DPR Commission VII is located in Nusantara I Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta. The 24-floor building is arranged for nine factions, including members of the boards, expert staff, and other employees.
Meanwhile, the secretary of the NasDem party faction, Saan Mustopa, said the rapid tests held today by his faction discovered seven people with reactive results. The party, he added, regularly established rapid tests once in two weeks.
“As of this afternoon, we conduct rapid tests on 143 people: faction’s expert staff, members, cleaning service workers, office boys, and all employees. And seven of them showed reactive results,” Saan told reporters.
He claimed he was not aware of the news brought up by Alex. However, the seven people would have COVID-19 swab tests tonight, June 29.
Due to the finding of the reactive results, the NasDem faction issued an instruction of working from home for its expert staff, members, administration staff, secretariat staff, and cleaning service workers on the 22nd and 23rd floor starting June 30 until July 6, 2020.
