IDI Confirms 2 Surabaya Doctors Treated for COVID-19

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairperson of Surabaya’s Indonesia Medical Association (IDI), Brahmana Askandar, confirmed that there are two doctors treated for COVID-19 at the Dr. Soetomo General Hospital in Surabaya, East Java. 

“The two are being treated at Dr. Soetomo hospital’s isolation units,” said Brahmana to Tempo on Friday, June 26. 

The two doctors, known to be Agus Sulityono and Hermanto, are reportedly in stable condition. Meanwhile, Obstetrician Ernawati who was initially reported to have been infected had been cleared after her swab test came back negative. 

According to the Airlangga University School of Medicine’s website, Agus held the position as the Dr. Soetomo Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynecology program coordinator.

Meanwhile, Hermanto and Ernawati both are the SMF Obstetrics and Gynecology Fetomaternal Division teachers at the same hospital.
