Annular Solar Eclipse Observable in Bengkulu

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) announced that the annular solar eclipse on Sunday, June 21, 2020, will be able to be observed over eight regencies in Bengkulu.
Head of Bengkulu’s BMKG, Litman, on Wednesday said that the annular solar eclipse will last from 14:29 Western Indonesia Times (WIB) to its peak at 14:59 and will end at 15:21 WIB.
The annular solar eclipse will be observable at Bengkulu City, Lebong District, Rejang Lebong District, Kepahiang, Mukomuko, North Bengkulu, Central Bengkulu, and Seluma.
“The eclipse will not be observable in two regencies which are South Bengkulu and Kaur,” said Litman.
However, he reminds the public that residents of the aforementioned areas will only be able to see the partial solar eclipse, unlike other regions. “It can be observed with your eyes but it’s better to see it through protective glasses.
