Monas to Reopen Amid Transitional PSBB; Entrance Gates Restricted

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta’s National Monument (Monas) administrators announced on Wednesday that the cultural heritage site in the heart of the capital city will only open two of its main gates on Saturday, June 20. Monas’ reopening comes as the city is undergoing a transitional PSBB (large scale social restriction).
“The access in and out of the site will be restricted. There will only be two entry gates located in the Southwest gate nearby Gambir Station,” said one of National Monument’s administrator Deddy Nurahmat on Wednesday.
Deddy reminded that each and every Monas visitor will have their body temperature screened and must wash their hands at facilities in each entrance gates to comply with the general COVID-19 health protocol.
Visitors must also follow a fixed walk path that has been set inside the tourist site to prevent visitors from accidentally bumping into each other. Come Saturday, Monas will be operational under the transitional PSBB operating hours from 08:00 Indonesia Western Time (WIB) up to 17:00 WIB.
