Covid-19 Update: Indonesia's Positive Cases Top 40,000

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government’s spokesman for the Covid-19 handling, Achmad Yurianto, reported 1,106 new positive cases on Tuesday, June 16, bringing the total to 40,400.

“So the total hits 40,400 cases,” said Yurianto in today’s press conference broadcasted live via BNPB’s (disaster mitigation agency) Youtube account.

He added that the number of recovered patients rose by 580 to 15,703 today, while the death toll rose by 33 to 2,231.

The number of people under monitoring (ODP), meanwhile, reaches 29,124 people, and the number of patients under monitoring (PDP) hits 13,510 patients.

Yurianto further appealed to the public to start practicing a new normal order by adopting a clean and healthy lifestyle.
