TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung city administration is preparing and monitoring the implementation of health protocols in the tourist areas. Similar to shopping malls, the tourism sector will be allowed to operate as long as it enforces protocols to prevent Covid-19 transmission.
“The most fundamental standard is that the queue must follow the physical distancing order, handwashing stations and isolation rooms are provided, and sites such as those in Taman Lalu Lintas must be cleaned with disinfectant,” said Bandung Deputy Mayor Yana Mulyana on Tuesday, June 16.

Yana claimed his side had inspected tourist destinations in the city, including Taman Lalu Lintas (Traffic Park), Bandung Zoo, and Karang Setra. The three sites, he opined, were considered as outdoor tourism areas that represented the readiness of the city’s tourist areas to welcome travelers.
However, not every site in the Taman Lalu Lintas would be opened for the public. Besides, the sites must enact limited tourists' capacity at 30 percent of the total.
“The capacity remains to be set at 30 percent because [Bandung City] is still classified as a yellow zone,” Yana added.
According to him, referred to the proportional large-scale social restriction (PSBB), the three tourist sites were permissible for reopening. However, they have not yet complied with the health protocols.
