TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries through the National Water Conservation Area Agency (BKKPN) of Kupang has established a new normal protocol for Raja Ampat.
According to the Head of BKKPN Kupang, Ikram M. Sangadji, the new normal tourism timeline is scheduled to be opened in December 2020.
“The BKKPN Kupang has created a new normal tourism protocol for natural water tourism that can be used as input for creating Raja Ampat’s new normal tourism protocol,” said Sangadji in a statement on Monday.
The general new normal guideline will include body temperature screenings in the entrance gates of ports and airports and digitalized reservation systems. He also noted that the tour spot will also be equipped with healthcare workers and a district-level health center.
Sangadji said that Raja Ampat will need to focus on tourism that puts forth local communities as the beneficiary of booming tourism activities in the area and that is naturally sustainable for the future of Papuans.
