TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A spokesman for President Joko Widodo or Jokowi, Fadjroel Rachman, asserted that the new normal phase cannot be recklessly applied in a region.
“There are considerations of epidemiological factors, public health surveillance, and health services as the indicators for the implementation of the new normal phase in a region,” said Fadjroel in an online discussion on Friday, June 12.
From the epidemiological factor, there are eleven indicators:
- The curve of new COVID-19 cases from its peak declines for the past two weeks (the target is over a 50 percent drop).
- The number of people and patients under monitoring and surveillance (ODP and PDP) slipped for the past two weeks (the target is over a 50 percent drop).
- The number of COVID-19 death toll also tumbled for the past two weeks (the target is over a 50 percent drop).
- The number of the death toll from ODP and PDP cases plummets for the past two weeks (the target is over a 50 percent drop).
- The number of positive patients being treated in hospital shrinks for the past two weeks (the target is over a 50 percent drop).
- The number of ODP and PDP being treated in hospital slumped for the past two weeks (the target is over a 50 percent drop).
- There is a surge in the number of recoveries.
- The number of ODP and PDP cases that pass the monitoring increases.
- There is a drop in the trend of positive cases per 100.000 population.
- There is a decline in the trend of death toll per 100.000 population.
- The COVID-19 effective reproduction number (Rt) is below 1.
Meanwhile, from the factor of health surveillance, there are two indicators: the number of specimen tests rises for two weeks and the positivity rate is below five percent.
As from the health service factor, there are also two indicators: the number of beds in isolation rooms of a referral hospital can accommodate up to 20 percent COVID-19 patients, and the number of beds in a referral hospital can serve 20 percent of ODP, PDP, and positive patients.
