TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The open debate between the current Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and former maritime affairs coordinating minister Rizal Ramli slated for Thursday, June 11, is officially canceled.
Tempo reached out to Rizal about Luhut’s challenge for an open public debate about state debts. However, Rizal did not directly answer our questions as he only replied with a smiling emoji.
“Please contact Adhie Massardi, our spokesperson for the debate with Luhut Binsar Panjaitan,” said Rizal Ramli on Thursday, June 11.
Rizal had also shared a link to a news portal that mentioned the new schedule for the debate with Luhut, however, Tempo is still confirming the validity of the article to Adhie.
This issue first arose after a number of critics slammed the government’s decision to reprint cash, with Rizal Ramli being one of the most vocal critics. The debate has even found its way to have a dedicated Twitter hashtag in #DukungDebatRRvsLuhut.
